Crack the Code Promotion
1. Promoter
This promotion is run by Emerge Group Limited (“Emerge”) in New Zealand.
2. Promotion Period
The promotion runs from 2 March 2026 to 31 March 2026 inclusive.
The O-Week Festival activation runs from 2 March to 4 March 2026 only.
3. Eligibility
To be eligible to enter and win:
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be a currently enrolled University of Auckland student for Semester 1 2026.
- Student status will be verified in partnership with AUSA.
- You must successfully create and complete an Emerge account during the Promotion Period.
- Employees of Emerge Group Limited and their immediate family members are not eligible.
Emerge reserves the right to request proof of identity and enrolment.
4. O-Week Festival Mechanism (2–4 March 2026)
The O-Week Festival is the only period during which the vault code can be guessed to win the prize.
During this period:
- Eligible participants who create and complete an Emerge account at the Emerge stall will receive one (1) attempt to guess the vault code.
- Only one attempt per eligible participant.
- If a participant correctly enters the vault code during the festival period, they will immediately win the $5,000 prize.
- The prize will be credited into their Emerge account following verification.
If the vault code is not successfully guessed between 2–4 March 2026, the guessing component of the promotion permanently ends.
5. Post-Festival Mechanism (From 5 March 2026)
From 5 March 2026 onwards, the promotion operates solely as a random draw.
The vault remains on campus for promotional purposes only.
Unlocking, guessing, or otherwise opening the vault after 4 March 2026 does not result in winning the $5,000 prize.
Entries into the random draw are earned as follows:
- One (1) entry upon successful creation and completion of an Emerge account during the Promotion Period.
- Five (5) additional entries for each successful referral.
- A referral is valid only when the referred person successfully creates and completes their Emerge account during the Promotion Period.
- There is no limit to the number of entries a participant may earn.
On 31 March 2026, one eligible entrant will be randomly drawn.
The selected winner will be provided with the official vault code and will unlock the vault for ceremonial purposes.
6. Prize
- One (1) prize of $5,000 NZD.
- The prize will be credited directly into the winner’s Emerge account following verification.
- The prize is not transferable or exchangeable.
- Once credited, funds may be used in accordance with standard Emerge account terms.
7. Vault Integrity and Conduct
Participants must not:
- Tamper with, damage, interfere with, or manipulate the vault or locking mechanism.
- Use force, tools, or external devices to attempt to open the vault.
Any vault opening resulting from tampering, force, damage, or malfunction will be deemed invalid and no prize will be awarded.
Emerge’s determination regarding tampering, malfunction, or eligibility is final.
8. Winner Notification
If awarded via random draw:
- The winner will be contacted using the contact details associated with their Emerge account.
- If the winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours, Emerge reserves the right to redraw the prize.
9. Fraud and Disqualification
Emerge reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
- Attempts to manipulate the referral system.
- Creates duplicate or fraudulent accounts.
- Engages in dishonest or unfair conduct.
Emerge’s decision is final.
10. Media and Publicity
By entering this promotion, participants:
- Agree that Emerge may photograph, film, and record participation.
- Grant Emerge the right to use their name, image, likeness, and participation for promotional purposes without further compensation.
Participation constitutes full consent.
11. General
- This promotion is governed by the laws of New Zealand.
- Emerge reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the promotion at any time.
- Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The Great Kiwi Road Trip
By entering The Great Kiwi Road Trip promotion (the Promotion), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter
The promoter is Emerge (Promoter, we, us, our).
2. Eligibility
- The Promotion is open to individuals aged 13 years and over who are resident in New Zealand.
- Entrants must hold a valid Emerge Personal account. Opening an Emerge Personal account is free.
- Entrants under the age of 18 years confirm that they have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
- Entries must be submitted via a public Instagram or TikTok account.
- Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
No purchase or payment is required to enter the Promotion.
3. Promotion period
The Promotion runs from 12:00am NZDT on 24/12/2025 to 11:59pm NZDT on 28/02/2026 (Promotion Period).
Entries submitted outside the Promotion Period will not be valid.
4. How to enter
To enter the Promotion, an entrant must, during the Promotion Period:
- Visit one of the official Road Trip locations listed on the Promotion landing page, or attend a New Zealand summer festival.
- Take a photo or video with their Emerge card clearly visible (physical or virtual).
- Post the content to Instagram or TikTok.
- Tag:
- Instagram: @nzemerge
- TikTok: @emerge.app
- Ensure their social media account is public so the entry can be viewed by the Promoter.
- Each post from a unique location counts as one (1) entry.
- There is no limit to the number of entries per person, provided each entry is from a different location.
- Content may be newly created or previously captured, provided it is posted during the Promotion Period and meets all entry requirements.
- Entries that cannot be viewed due to privacy settings will not be counted.
5. Prizes
Weekly prizes
- One (1) weekly prize winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during each weekly draw period.
- The weekly prize is NZD $100 credited to the winner’s Emerge Personal account.
Festival bonus
- Entries submitted from a New Zealand summer festival may be eligible for a festival ticket refund, at the Promoter’s discretion.
- Proof of ticket purchase may be required.
- If a festival ticket refund is unavailable or impracticable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
End-of-summer major prize
- One (1) major prize winner will receive NZD $1,000 credited to their Emerge Personal account.
- The major prize will be awarded to the entrant who has visited the greatest number of official Road Trip locations during the Promotion Period.
- Completion of all locations is not required.
- In the event of a tie, the winner will be randomly drawn from the tied entrants.
All prizes:
- Are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash outside of Emerge account credit.
- Will only be credited to a valid, active Emerge Personal account in the winner’s name.
- Are awarded in New Zealand dollars.
- Winners are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from receipt of a prize.
6. Winner selection and notification
- Weekly winners and the major prize winner will be determined in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Winners will be contacted via the social media account used to enter or via official Emerge communication channels.
- Winners must respond within a reasonable timeframe specified by the Promoter to claim their prize.
- If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond, the Promoter reserves the right to redraw the prize.
7. Content usage and intellectual property
By submitting content and tagging the Promoter as part of this Promotion, entrants:
- Warrant that they own the content or have all necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
- Grant the Promoter a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and communicate the content.
- Agree that the content may be used for marketing, promotional, advertising, and commercial purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, email communications, and paid advertising.
- Acknowledge that no additional compensation is payable for use of the content beyond any prize awarded.
The Promoter may attribute content to the entrant’s social media handle, but attribution is not guaranteed. The Promoter reserves the right not to use any submitted content at its discretion.
8. Verification and disqualification
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants.
- Entries that are incomplete, misleading, fraudulent, inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful may be disqualified.
- Any attempt to interfere with or undermine the Promotion may result in disqualification.
9. Liability
- To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or invalid entries.
- The Promoter is not liable for any technical failures, platform outages, or events beyond its reasonable control.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights or remedies available under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.
- Subject to the foregoing, the Promoter excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from participation in the Promotion or acceptance of a prize.
10. Changes and cancellation
The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Promotion if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make it necessary to do so. Any changes will be communicated via the Promoter’s website or official social media channels.
11. Privacy and platform disclaimer
- Personal information collected in connection with the Promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.
- This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Meta, or TikTok.
12. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
