Emerge digital wallet terms + conditions

The general Emerge terms and conditions also apply to your use of digital wallets. You can find the full terms at https://www.emerge.nz/emerge-terms or in the footer of our website, or in-app.

How do I get going?
Just link your Emerge card to your digital wallet by adding it to your digital wallet app on your device, and you’re good to go. Please note that contactless payment limits may apply depending on the merchant, and the payment terminal they use.

And how do I turn it off?
To stop using your digital wallet with your Emerge card, go into the digital wallet app on your device and remove your card.

You have responsibilities for keeping your digital wallet secure. If you have other terms with your digital wallet provider (e.g. terms relating to your device) then they will apply.

What are my responsibilities?
Keep your security details to yourself. That means all PINs and passcodes you use to access your Emerge account, enabled device + digital wallet.

• Know where your enabled device is at all times, and don’t leave it unattended.
• Ensure no one else (including Emerge team members or even the police or your family) uses your enabled device to make transactions.
• Tell us immediately if your enabled device has been lost or stolen (or even if you think it has been) or if you think someone else has accessed it.
• Remove your Emerge card from your enabled device when we ask you to, when the account is closed, or when you sell or give your device to someone else, or lose, or dispose of it in any way.

We may share anonymised, statistical information with your digital wallet provider, to develop and improve how the service works.
